A university professor or researcher with exceptional ability in sciences, arts or business is a person who counts with a degree of expertise above his or her peers. In order to qualify for this EB-2 green card category, the foreign national must have a job offer and a PERM or labor certification unless he or she can apply under National Interest Waiver category.
A - Requirements
- Exceptional ability in sciences, arts or business proved by meeting three of the following requirements:
- Degree relating to the area of exceptional ability;
- Letter from current or former employer showing at least 10 years experience;
- License to practice a profession;
- High salary or remuneration demonstrating exceptional ability;
- Memberships in professional organizations; or
- Recognition for achievements and significant contributions to the industry or field by peers, governmental entities or professional organizations.
- Job offer
- PERM or labor certification unless he or she can apply under the National Interest Waiver (NIW) category. B - Remarks

- This category requires a high standard of proof as the applicant must prove to be above his or her peers.
