A university professor or researcher with exceptional ability in sciences, arts or business is a person who counts with a degree of expertise above his or her peers.  In order to qualify for this EB-2 green card category, the foreign national must have a job offer and a PERM or labor certification unless he or she can apply under National Interest Waiver category.

A - Requirements

1. Exceptional ability in sciences, arts or business proved by meeting three of the following requirements:
   
   
   • Degree relating to the area of exceptional ability;
   • Letter from current or former employer showing at least 10 years experience;
   • License to practice a profession;
   • High salary or remuneration demonstrating exceptional ability;
   • Memberships in professional organizations; or
   • Recognition for achievements and significant contributions to the industry or field by peers, governmental entities or professional organizations.
